Capital Crossroads SID Announces Video Contest for Downtown Office SpaceAnnouncements — By Susan Post on August 1, 2014 at 8:00 am
If downtown is where you want your business to be, Capital Crossroads SID is announcing a video contest in which local businesses will compete for $10,000 towards an office lease within the district.
“The SID offers downtown businesses a lot of support, from the time they start looking at space to lease, to well after they call downtown home, but we know there are a lot of start-up costs, which is why we are so excited to launch this contest,” says Kacey Brankamp, business recruiter for the SID. “Not only will the prize make a significant impact for the winner, the contest will highlight what makes downtown a unique place to do business.”
The SID wants contestants to put together a video that highlights why downtown is the perfect place for their business. What sets it apart from other places to set up shop? What makes the district unique? If a business is expanding, how has being downtown set them on this trajectory? Also, the SID wants to hear how the money saved on rent will be used to improve your business.
“The creativity will be an important part of it,” says Melissa Fast, marketing director for Capital Crossroads SID.
The contest is open to any business that would need an office space, providing a great opportunity for small, micro-businesses to those with about 20 employees to relocate or expand downtown.
Contestants can submit videos from noon today through through noon on Tuesday, September 30. Videos should be four minutes or under with a file size limit of 300MB.
Once they have highlighted what makes downtown a great place, businesses can upload their entries to the contest website. Once the submission period ends, videos will be posted online and businesses will have the month of October to harness their networks, get their friends to vote like crazy, and collect as many votes as possible.
The top ten videos will go before an expert panel of SID judges with the $10,000 winner being announced on Monday, November 3.
The contest winner will receive $10,000 to be used toward the lease of a downtown Columbus office. The prize is contingent upon the winner signing a one-year lease for downtown Columbus commercial space. Any surplus funds after the cost of the one-year lease may be allocated to furnishing office space after submitting a budget to Capital Crossroads SID for approval.
Additional contest rules apply. Please read carefully before submitting: http://bit.ly/BeDowntownTerms.
