There are many different types of entrepreneurial events in Columbus. From the smaller casual networking events to the larger annual award ceremonies.
In 2011, the event that stood out as the best for entrepreneurs was the annual Startup Weekend Columbus, which took place Oct. 7-9 at the Loann Crane Center for Design. At this year’s event, 18 startup ideas were formed, pitched and refined over the course of three days. A group of speakers provided inspiration for the attendees, and mentors were on hand to provide valuable advice and assistance to the groups working on what could become the next big idea.

I attended Startup Weekend this past fall and it was an amazing event! There is another one coming up in February that I’ll definitely be attending again. I recommend registering: http://columbus.startupweekend.org/
