Metropreneur nominated for 2011 Innovation Award

We at The Metropreneur learned Friday that the website is a TechColumbus Innovation Award semi-finalist.

The Innovation Awards honor individuals and teams for outstanding achievements in business leadership and innovation in numerous industries, including energy, financial services, retail, insurance, and health care.

The Metropreneur is up for the Outstanding Startup Business award. Five companies we’ve featured here are also vying for the same honor: Acceptd; hungerly; Libre; Q Start Labs; and Watershed Distillery.

Other featured companies that are also semi-finalists include Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Venture Highway (both are up for Outstanding Product− company with fewer than 250 employees), and eEvent (Outstanding Technology Team).

Best of luck to all the nominees.

Winners will be announced during the 2011 Innovation Awards on Feb. 2, 2012 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Upon earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism from The Ohio State University in 2004, she became a staff writer for a business and legal newspaper in Columbus.
