Spinelli’s Deli Local Yumminess Program to Support Area Food-Based Businesses

Spinelli’s Deli in Victorian Village wants to help other food-based businesses get their products in front of customers just in time for the holiday season. Owner Joe Spinelli is searching for about two dozen entrepreneurs to sell their goodies through a program called Local Yumminess.

Spinelli has plans to add shelving to the seating area in the deli to display items. He’s looking to support other food-based companies and is welcoming everyone from established entrepreneurs to new businesses, especially those that don’t have a store front. He is also open to selling goods that require refrigeration. An accompanying guide will ensure that customers are aware of all the products and provide information on each business and where they can be found.

spinellis-deli-logoSpinelli says to think Celebrate Local, but is making the same kinds of goods available to shoppers in Victorian Village without the drive to Easton. He also plans to package goods together to create gift baskets. Spinelli’s gift cards can be used on all items. He hopes to have the program up and running by November 1st.

Being a small business owner himself, Spinelli is an advocate for supporting local.

“There is so much energy behind local in Columbus,” he says. He is creating Local Yumminess as a way to encourage residents to buy local and support local businesses. He wants to see residents continue their energetic support of local entrepreneurs.

The deli practices what they preach, buying local and using local resources whenever available. They currently work with three gluten-free bakeries, providing products like their garlic-sage focaccia and cookies. The walls of the Deli are also lined with artwork and photographs for sale by local artists.
